Callahan states the preliminary reports indicate Liam Vaughn age 3 was at a family member’s home in Morris with his parents Mark and Ashley Vaughn.  There were many family members in the back yard and several children in the pool midday Sunday.  It appears Ashley (mom) went inside the home to check on another child and Mark (father) was standing on a deck near the pool.  Liam had gotten out of the pool and had taken his water floats off his arms so he could eat.  In just brief moment, Liam apparently jumped back into the pool without the floats.  Within a moment, Dad realized Liam was not by the food and then saw his son face down in the pool.
Mark jumped in and retrieved his son,  he and his wife immediately began CPR.  911 call placed and Liam was transported to Morris Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after 4:00 pm.
