Tax Sale Redemption Information

Every year, unpaid real estate taxes, or any unpaid balance due, may be subject to sale at the Annual Tax Sale usually held in early November.  The Grundy County Clerk's Office collects payment for htese taxes that were sold.

TAX REDEMPTION FACTS

• Interest rates are calculated at six month intervals from the date of tax sale.
• Current unpaid taxes may be added to a previous sale any time after teh second installment is due.
• Petition for Tax Deed may be added to a sale not less than three months and not mroe than six months from when a period of redemption expires.
• Sold real estate texes must be paid in full by certified funds only.  Payment my be made in person at the Grundy County Clerk's Office or by mail.  Cashier's check certified check, money order or cash payable to Grundy County Clerk, 111 E. Washington St.  Room 12, Morris, IL 60450.  Please be sure to include the parcel number, contact name, daytime phone number and a self-addressed stamped return envelope with payment.
