In order to be eligible to vote in Grundy County, you must register. Don't risk being turned away on Election Day! To be eligible to register in Grundy County, you must:
1. Be a US Citizen
2. Be 18 years of age by on or before date of the next election
An individual who is 17 years of age on the date of the General Primary Election, AND who will be 18 years of age on or before the date of the General Election. ( This applies to general elections, usually held in even numbered years.)
3. Reside in the precinct 30 days prior to the next election
4. Show two (2) forms of valid identification
One form of identification must show your name and current address. The second form must show your name.
These forms of valid identification shall include, but are not limited to: Driver's license, birth certificate, student ID card, Insurance card, check book, bank statement (please blackout account number), state ID card, employee ID card, credit card, current utility bill, current W-2 form, state issuded FOID card.
The Illinois Election Code defines a resident as someone who has a "permanent abode or dwelling within the precinct." (10 ILCS 5/3-1)

You may also register to vote on the MAIL-IN REGISTRATION FORM, under the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), a copy of a valid I.D. must accompany the registration and/or be provided when you vote.
You may also register to vote when you obtain a new Illinois driver’s license or state ID. Your registration will be forwarded to the County Clerk’s office.
You, the voter, can help maintain accurate voting records by notifying the County Clerk’s office with a letter, if you or an immediate family member(s) has moved, changed their name or is deceased.
Every (2) two years the County Clerk’s office is required by law to verify the accuracy of our Voter Rolls. We are required to mail new Voter Registration Cards to all active voters in Grundy County. In 2013, the new Voter Registration Cards will be mailed.

If you are currently a registered voter in Grundy County and have moved within Grundy County, you MUST change your voter registration by one of the following procedures:
Changes of address must be received in the Clerk’s office or post marked no late than 28 days before an election.
