Grace Period Voter Information

The traditional deadline for Voter Registration Applications is no later than 28 days before an Election, with the completed Applications being returned to the Grundy County Clerk's Office.

Grace Period Voter Registration is an extension of the deadline for voter registration. State law allows for the registration of new voters, those with a name change, or those voters who have a change of address.

The voter must register at the Grundy County Clerk's Office from the 27th through the 3rd day prior to an election.

The law requires that a person participating in Grace Period Registration must also cast a ballot for the upcoming election at the time of registration. The voter may not vote at the polls on Election Day. (10ILCS 5/4-52, 5-50, 6-100)
