Summary

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Grundy County Transit Director and Transit Department. The Assistant will perform a variety of administrative duties during their day in support of the department.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for tracking gas usage for the buses
  • Preparing reports showing bus mileage on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as well as requested
  • Recording of paid bus fares and reconciling with passenger counts and destinations
  • Field & answer questions from people who call the department with questions about the Transit Program providing quality customer service
  • Work with Transit Dispatch Office
  • Prepare billing statements for service contracts and Medicaid
  • General office work
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

– Minimum 3 year of administrative support experience in an office environment;
– Experience in a transportation setting or experience with Medicaid billing desired
– Extremely well organized and experienced in organizing an office, from files to processes
– High School Diploma or equivalent
– Computer Experience (Word, Excel)

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Establish and maintain constructive and harmonious relationships with department heads, elected officials and the general public; organize workload, set priorities and meet time sensitive deadlines; handle confidential information with discretion; assist in devising and keeping office records of a confidential nature; maintain confidentiality.

Mathematical Skills

Possess basic math skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to learn new software as necessary
Experience using social media

Pay range:                                         $18.91 an hour / $36,874.50 annually

 

SUMMARY: 

Perform public health nursing duties as assigned in a local health department, which may include programs such as WIC/FCM, APORS, HealthWorks, All Kids, Communicable Disease, Immunization, Medication Management Program, Indigent Pharmaceutical Program, Mental Health Court Program and School Nursing if requested. Additional public health nurse duties in relation to services provided by the nursing division may be requested if required.  .

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform anthropometric and biochemical measurements, i.e., hemoglobin, height, weight, head circumference, blood pressure. Ensure calibration of equipment utilized, i.e., scale, hemocue, sphygmomanometer.
  2. Provide outreach, education and other services related to WIC (Women’s, Infants and Children) Nutrition Program.
  3. Provides monitoring, medication administration and medication management to clients under the supervision of consulting psychiatrist
  4. Responsible for performing needed screening, assessments, medication management, documentation and other essential duties for clients referred for the Medication Management Services Program, the Indigent Pharmaceutical Program and the Mental Health Court Program.
  5. Provide client teaching, guidance, nutrition, and nursing care in health department clinics.
  6. Instruct client, families and/or groups on preventive health care.
  7. Provide pregnancy testing, education, and documentation.
  8. Provide periodic assessment of client’s needs per DHS regulations.
  9. Provide medical case management services for those children under the care of DCFS.
  10. Administer vaccinations according to Academy of Childhood Immunization Practice (ACIP) and Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Diploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.  Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  Current Illinois Professional Nurses license required.  Experience with WIC and Family Case Management preferred. Experience in Community or Public Health preferred.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
