Tax Sale Redemption InformationEvery year, unpaid real estate taxes, or any unpaid balance due, may be subject to sale at the Annual Tax Sale usually held in early November.  The Grundy County Clerk’s Office collects payment for these taxes that were sold.

TAX REDEMPTION FACTS
  • Interest rates are calculated at six month intervals from the date of tax sale.
  • Current unpaid taxes may be added to a previous sale any time after the second installment is due.
  • Petition for Tax Deed may be added to a sale not less than three months and not more than six months from when a period of redemption expires.
  • Sold real estate taxes must be paid in full by certified funds only. Payment may be made in person at the Grundy County Clerk’s Office or by mail.  A cashier’s check, certified check, or money order must be made payable to Grundy County Clerk.  Please include the parcel number, contact name, daytime phone number and a self-addressed stamped return envelope with payment.  Mail payment to Grundy County Clerk, 111 E. Washington Street, Room 12,  Morris, IL  60450.   If paying in person, with cash, the exact amount is requested.  The parcel number is also required.
