Grundy County Sheriff  -   We Serve & Protect

Sheriff Terry M. Marketti

Grundy County is primarily a rural community but quickly experiencing the "growing pains" of urban sprawl. The unincorporated area of the County is approximately 18,000 people.

We are located approximately 65 miles south/southwest of the City of Chicago and have a population of nearly 46,000 residents. The County is comprised of 13 distinct communities that each enjoy their own identity as either a city, town, or village. Our communities range in population from just over 80 persons in East Brooklyn to the largest community, the City of Morris, whose population is approximately 12,000 and growing. Grundy County is 85% rural and prides itself on the abundance of farmland.
