Welcome to the Land Use Department!
As a fairly new addition to the many fine departments of the county, we have adopted this goal as we serve the residents of Grundy County:
To promote a safe, healthy, balanced community that preserves our natural resources and educates our residents to continue this pursuit for future generations of Grundy residents.’
The Land Use Department has three offices to serve Grundy County’s needs. The Environmental & Resource Conservation Office, the Building and Zoning Office and the Planning Office are the fabric that makes up our Land Use Department.

We thank Grundy County residents in advance for their generosity. We have always collected over 100 boxes of toys and the children are most appreciative of them.

Reuse and give the gift of fun to a child this season! Thank you Grundy County residents!
Land Use Appreciates Toy Drive Donations - January 29, 2018
Each year the Land Use Department holds a gently used toy drive for children. The donations of games, baby toys, and girl and boy toys was overwhelming this year and we appreciate all of the residents who made this drive a great success. The South Wilmington Grade School through Ms. Cindy Christiansen and all of the residents who were so generous make this giving a very special event.
This year we received a lot of new toys along with the gently used and they were distributed to the Mazon Toys for Joy program through the Mazon Methodist Church, the Chicago Rotary, Coal City new gift collection, and some to families in need in Grundy County.
We thank the Morris Library, Fossil Ridge Library, Three Rivers Library in Minooka and Channahon, and the Coal City Library for generously giving space within their libraries as drop off locations for toys. We were also very fortunate to have Park Pointe nursing home as a partner in sanitizing and washing all of the stuffed animals that we received.
My special thanks to both Bob ‘Santa’ Pazely for picking up toys multiple times in the last month from local libraries and to Cheryl Wardell for her help in the sorting and boxing of the toys.
All of these toys are now in the hands of children who would have not received many, if any presents. These toys are given another opportunity to be played with, and that certainly shows reuse of our precious resources.
Grundy County you are so generous and I thank you!
